Move Right Music is a new record label with its Western headquarters located in Vancouver.

We are currently looking for a few enthusiastic and outgoing individuals to join us that are willing to learn all aspects of the business, and offer opportunities to receive experience with tour booking and publicity, event production and promotion, marketing, web & social media coordination, grant writing, licensing and music placement, artist development, production/collaboration brokering and more.

Internships can be offered generally, allowing a full sampling of music industry duties, or, can be tailored to a specific area, allowing you to gain hands-on experience in your chosen field or area of interest. Letters of recommendation will be given and we are more than willing to work in conjunction with schools that have required internship/practicum hours for their programs.

General duties to include but not limited to the following:

  • Online research for venue and promoter info in markets across Canada, as well as blogs, newspapers, magazines, podcasts, radio stations, television and film music supervisors etc.
  • Cold calling and email correspondence
  • Data entry and database management
  • Active posting and daily management of multiple social media platforms using Facebook, Instagram, Twitter etc., as well as exploring other online opportunities such as Google Reviews, Yelp, blogs and forums etc.
  • Contributing towards street promotion of our events which entails putting up posters, doing flyer drops at retail stores, handing out passes to events etc.. This may include making occasional trips to Whistler
  • Working with our PR experts to develop content and media releases to post regularly in social media, as well as other means of publicity in support of tours and events
  • Running basic errands such as picking up promotional packages from printers, and potentially, airport pickup of artists as required
  • Assisting with setup, teardown, and documenting our events on the night-of
  • Assisting with any other marketing team tasks as necessary

The ideal candidate:

  • Must be minimum age of 19
  • A valid class 5 drivers license will be considered an advantage
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Some experience working with social media and other web platforms
  • Passionate about learning about the Canadian music industry
  • Familiar with basic layout and directions of Vancouver streets (Downtown core and Suburbs)
  • Positive, high energy individual with a can-do attitude
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required
  • Polite phone etiquette
  • Be in good enough physical shape to walk the streets (going to different retail stores) for a few hours at a time
  • Familiar with Mac and PC computers, with a basic knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Basic knowledge of graphic design applications and desktop publishing such as Adobe CS
  • Creativity is an asset
